PROJECT INFORMATION & QUOTATION

Project Information and Quotation Questions

Find answers about the drawings, samples, technical information, quantities, and project details needed for an initial manufacturing review and quotation.

01 What information is required for a quotation?

Please provide available 2D drawings, 3D CAD files, material requirements, quantities, part application, critical dimensions, surface requirements, quality expectations, delivery destination, and target schedule.

For mold projects, please also provide the expected production quantity, annual demand, mold-life requirement, molding material, and preferred mold specifications if available.

Yes. You may first send sample photos, reference dimensions, application information, material preferences, estimated quantities, and a description of the part’s function.

However, complete drawings or confirmed technical data may still be required before the final price and manufacturing plan can be approved.

Physical samples can be evaluated for reverse engineering or replacement-part development.

Please also provide the part application, equipment or product information, required material, critical dimensions, quantity, and functional requirements.

The feasibility and accuracy of reverse engineering depend on the condition and complexity of the sample.

报价时间取决于制造工艺、图纸完整性、零件复杂程度、材料、数量、公差、表面处理和测试要求。

简单的项目可能审核速度更快,而模具、组件、多工序组件或未完成的项目可能需要额外的技术确认。

MOLD TOOLING & PLASTIC INJECTION MOLDING

Injection Mold and Plastic Molding Questions

Find answers about the drawings, samples, technical information, quantities, and project details needed for an initial manufacturing review and quotation.

01 What types of injection molds can Moldv manufacture?

Moldv can evaluate custom injection molds according to the component geometry, plastic material, production quantity, expected mold life, surface requirements, tolerances, molding equipment, and customer specifications.

The applicable mold structure should be confirmed after reviewing the project drawings and technical requirements.

Yes. A project may include mold design, DFM review, tooling, trial molding, sample inspection, part approval, injection molding, applicable secondary processing, packaging, and repeat production.

The final project scope will be defined according to the quotation and customer requirements.

Yes. Available part designs can be reviewed for wall thickness, draft angles, ribs, bosses, undercuts, gate locations, parting lines, shrinkage, warpage risks, assembly features, and other manufacturing considerations.

Any proposed design changes should be reviewed and approved by the customer before tooling begins.

Mold ownership, storage, maintenance, modification, transfer, production use, and related responsibilities should be clearly confirmed in the quotation or project agreement.

Customer-funded tooling is generally managed according to the agreed commercial terms.

Existing molds can be evaluated according to the mold drawings, structure, material, condition, requested design changes, production history, and available samples.

Not every mold can be modified safely or economically, so an inspection may be required before confirming the modification plan.

CNC, PROTOTYPING & FLEXIBLE PARTS

Questions About Other Manufacturing Processes

Find answers about CNC machining, prototype development, custom rubber and silicone components, and projects that require multiple manufacturing processes.

01 Can Moldv manufacture CNC-machined parts?

Yes. Moldv can evaluate custom metal and engineering-plastic parts according to the drawing, material, geometry, tolerances, surface finish, quantity, inspection requirements, and delivery schedule.

Yes. Applicable prototypes can be produced for appearance review, dimensional checks, assembly verification, functional testing, customer presentation, or preparation for tooling.

The recommended prototype method depends on the material, geometry, quantity, accuracy, surface finish, and intended testing requirements.

Yes. Custom seals, gaskets, sleeves, pads, buttons, covers, grips, dampers, and other flexible components can be evaluated according to the drawing, material, hardness, color, operating environment, quantity, and performance requirements.

Yes. Projects involving molded plastic parts, CNC-machined parts, rubber or silicone components, inserts, secondary finishing, or assembly can be reviewed as an integrated manufacturing project.

The final process scope and supplier responsibilities should be confirmed before quotation.

MATERIALS, TOLERANCES & SURFACE REQUIREMENTS

Material, Tolerance, and Surface Questions

Find answers about material selection, achievable tolerances, colors, textures, surface finishes, and requirements for regulated applications.

01 Can Moldv help select a material?

Yes. Moldv can discuss possible material options based on the part’s function, strength, operating temperature, chemical exposure, appearance, flexibility, dimensional stability, manufacturing process, cost, and applicable standards.

Final material approval remains subject to the customer’s technical, functional, and regulatory requirements.

Achievable tolerances depend on the manufacturing process, material, part size, geometry, wall thickness, tooling, measurement method, production quantity, and operating environment.

Critical dimensions should be clearly identified on the drawing and reviewed before quotation.

Yes. Color, texture, gloss, transparency, painting, coating, polishing, printing, laser marking, and other finishing requirements can be evaluated according to the material, reference sample, design, tooling, manufacturing process, and acceptance criteria.

Minor variations may need to be defined through an approved sample or agreed tolerance range.

Projects involving food contact, drinking water, medical use, electrical safety, flame resistance, children’s products, or other regulated applications require clearly defined destination markets, applicable standards, material documentation, testing requirements, and acceptance criteria.

Suitability should be evaluated separately for each project.

QUALITY, PRODUCTION & DELIVERY

Production and Delivery Questions

Find answers about quality control, inspection documents, minimum order quantities, production lead times, and international shipping for custom manufacturing projects.

01 How does Moldv control product quality?

Quality control may include incoming material verification, in-process inspection, dimensional measurement, appearance inspection, first-article review, approved samples, final inspection, packaging checks, and applicable quality records.

The inspection scope should be confirmed according to the specific project requirements.

Available documents may include dimensional reports, material certificates, inspection records, sample approval documents, or other agreed project files.

Required documentation should be specified before quotation because availability depends on the material, manufacturing process, supplier, test method, and project scope.

MOQ depends on the manufacturing process, material, tooling, component size, production setup, finishing requirements, and commercial conditions.

Prototype and low-volume projects may be evaluated separately from repeat production orders.

Lead time depends on drawing confirmation, material availability, tooling requirements, part complexity, sample approval, quantity, secondary processing, inspection, packaging, and delivery arrangements.

The confirmed production schedule will be provided after the project scope has been reviewed.

Yes. International delivery can be discussed according to the destination, shipment size, product type, packaging requirements, delivery terms, and customer preferences.

Applicable Incoterms, freight, customs responsibilities, taxes, insurance, and required documentation should be confirmed before shipment.
